In a candid exchange with Rainbow Radio's Sports Editor, Frank Osei Owusu, Saani Daara, the former spokesperson for the Ghana Football Association, voiced his concerns over the recent direction of Ghana's national football team. Daara lamented the decline in performance since the appointment of Chris Hughton as head coach, labelling it as a regrettable decision that has led to a downturn in the team's fortunes.

Daara reminisced about the days when Ghana's squad was a formidable force on the international stage, questioning the reasons behind the current slump. He criticized Hughton's tenure, accusing him of lacking a coherent strategy and the necessary skills to foster team growth, ultimately leading to a deterioration in the team's performance.

However, Daara's tone shifted as he spoke of Otoo Addo, the successor in the coaching role. He expressed optimism about the future under Addo's guidance, urging him to harness the best talent available for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Daara's confidence in Addo's ability to rejuvenate the team was palpable, as he called upon him to elevate the squad to its former glory.

The communications expert emphasized the importance of assembling a squad that is not only prepared but also determined to bring honor to the nation. He appealed to the people of Ghana to rally behind Addo and the players, underscoring the collective aspiration to witness the national team thrive and make the country proud on the world stage.
